Mike Sembos, superfallingstar

Fatal Flaw, Boston, MA [Featuring current/ex-pats of The Plus Ones. Mr T Experience, Razors in the Night, The Avengers, Pansy Division, Bang Camaro and Sinnet.]

The Fatal Flaw formed in early 2008 when Joel Reader, California native and pop-punk veteran, suddenly found himself bandless in the numbing cold of a Boston winter. Not one to mill about aimlessly, Reader quickly assembled a veritable who's-who of Northeast rockers. The new act features Reader on bass and lead vocals, Glen Fant and Aaron Spransy on guitars, backed by Randy Tartow on drums.

"Boston power-pop quartet The Fatal Flaw is all loud guitars, ferocious drumming, and killer harmonies -- The Fatal Flaw combines a playful juxtaposition of biting cynicism and shameless pop sensibility earning them distinction as a band worth watching.”

Shelter Dogs

Self-styled “jangle-garage” combo Shelter Dogs (King Pizza Records) have been a fixture of NYC’s rock clubs and DIY spots for years, leading sweaty crowds in fist-pumping, danceable pop choruses wherever they go. Their musically omnivorous sound folds in powerpop, British Invasion and Motown references, classic punk and post-punk, surf beats, ‘80s “college rock,” psych and more – all unified by driving rhythms and massive pop hooks. Singer/guitarist Brian LaRue (recognizable to CT fans from ‘00s New Haven mainstays The Tyler Trudeau Attempt and The Cavemen Go) leads up a crew of expert rockers handpicked from the NYC rock underground, featuring Jon Mann (bass), Cory Rohr (drums) and Gabriel Esparza (keyboards).
