About this event

  • Event lasts 2 hours

Join us for a captivating evening of music performed on the sitar and tabla by Will Marsh and Sameer Gupta. This performance will feature the rich traditional rhythms and melodies from North India. It is a lively and unique artform with expansive improvisation and complex rhythms ranging from slow and meditative to fast and virtuosic. It is ideal to behold these sounds live and in their element. Please join us for a unique and exciting evening!

Will Marsh brings refined melody, imagination and devotion to all facets of his music. He has been performing around the world on sitar and guitar for over two decades. Will has worked with Grammy-winning musicians and producers and has been featured on national TV. His deep commitment to the tradition of Hindustani classical music on sitar has profoundly shaped his artistry and he has been blessed to study with the legendary musicians Ustad Aashish Khan, Roshan Jamal Bhartiya and Tushar Bhatia.

His latest release, The Integration, expresses a fresh approach to bringing a world of sounds and influences together. Currently, Will resides in the Bay Area as a sought-after teacher, performer and recording artist.

Sameer Gupta has created a unique musical sound by combining traditional and modern improvisational styles drawing from his dual Indian and American heritage, and has already established himself as an original voice in music today.

Gupta did not begin mastering the tabla until well into his jazz career in the early ‘00s, and now from bebop to avant-garde jazz, and European classical percussion to North Indian classical tabla, he continues to compose and perform music from a true multi-cultural perspective that bridges several continents.
