Wild Remedy: nature as a response to sensory overwhelm

Join Ash and Noémie as we explore connection with nature as a route to emotional and sensory regulation through mindfulness, movement and creativity.

About the Event

Whether you’re craving peace or stimulation, feeling overwhelmed or a lack of motivation – nature has a way of reducing sensory overload, whilst offering a gentle, but dynamic environment that can help to regulate our emotional and physical restlessness.

Taking place in the beautiful Cannon Hill Park, this workshop will facilitate an environment where you can expect to

  • Understand the role of nature in balancing our emotional and sensory inner world
  • Be introduced to embodied practices, channelling your senses, bodies and creativity as practical tools for regulation in an overwhelming world
  • Connect more deeply with yourself, others and the natural world

What to expect from Wild Remedy

We will open the space with a grounding meditation to more deeply connect with yourself and with nature, blurring the boundaries between ourselves and the more-than-human world.

There will be lots of space for reflection facilitated though writing prompts, discussion and creative activities.

We will be sharing insight, knowledge and practical ways in which to deepen your relationship to nature, and begin to remedy the overstimulation, sensory overload and feeling that everything is too much.

There will be opportunity for you to share your own nature-based practices, connection and experiences, as we support one another to ground and grow with nature.

About your facilitators

Noémie (she/her) is a nature-allied, person-centred therapist, passionate about encouraging a healing connection with our natural world. She cultivates her connection to nature through hiking, writing, wild swimming, collage and photography. As a community hike leader, she strives to facilitate access to the outdoors and relationships with nature, primarily focused on working with marginalised folks. Noémie is an active practitioner and researcher of connection & relationship with nature as a vehicle for therapeutic healing.

Ash (short for Ashanty, she/her) is a writer, psychotherapist, and intuitive guide working from an integrative and intersectional approach to healing. She supports sensitive people and deep feelers in reconnecting with their authentic selves, navigating emotional depth, and fostering meaningful, liberatory relationships. She is the author of A Warrior’s Reminder and Highly Sensitive Warrior, both offering daily reminders to help foster deeper self-connection. As the creator of Sensitive Soul Circle, Ash holds space for healing and transformation, honouring sensitivity as a source of wisdom. She remains a lifelong student of the human experience, curious about how we can collectively move toward fulfilment, connection, and liberation.
