Overview

A caregiver and me class for 0-6 year olds to get hands on with science and create nature-based art!

This fun outdoor class at Heritage Pond Education Center is for young children and their caregivers to connect with nature and friends by engaging in hands-on earth science projects, and creating nature-based art. Each class begins with songs and parachute time, followed by reading a picture book based on the theme of the day, playing an earth science-based game or experiment, creating nature-based art, and exploration. Themes vary and include shapes in nature, what lives in a tree, and how seeds grow.

A parent or guardian must stay with their child for the duration of the class.

Teacher: Meghan Ballard holds a B.S. in Environmental Science and has done graduate-level coursework in Environmental Education. She has more than 20 years of experience in environmental education and is a certified Cedarsong Way teacher and a Certified Nature-Based teacher with the Association of Nature Based Education. She is owner and teacher of Blue Mountain Nature School, a member of the Blue Mountains Conservancy board of directors, and a mother of two.
