About this event

  • Event lasts 1 hour

This fun outdoor class at Heritage Pond Education Center is for young children and their caregivers to connect with nature and friends by engaging in hands-on earth science projects, and creating nature-based art. Each class begins with songs and parachute time, followed by reading a picture book based on the theme of the day, playing an earth science-based game or experiment, creating nature-based art, and exploration. Themes vary and include shapes in nature, what lives in a tree, and how seeds grow.

A parent or guardian must stay with their child for the duration of the class.

Teacher: Rachel Rice studied Early Childhood Education at EOU and previously taught as a pre-k teacher at Heidi Ho. She currently homeschools her two children, and is passionate about getting kids outside (no matter the weather) to learn from the land and all that it has to offer.

Cost: Free

Location: Heritage Pond Education Center located at 913 South Miller Drive in La Grande
