About this event

  • Event lasts 1 hour 30 minutes

Join us on Thursday, May 29th, at the Jamaica Conference Centre for the launch of the inaugural study of the OneCity initiative titled, Who Gets What? Mapping Rights, Access, and the Future of Jamaican Cities, through funding from the Foundation BOTNAR. This collaborative effort, led by the Caribbean Policy Research Institute (CAPRI) and supported by visionary partners SlashRoots, MonaGeoInformatics, Fight for Peace, invites you to engage in a compelling dialogue that will offer critical insights into the implications for Jamaica’s cities, governance, and future development.

The report introduces the Urban Integration Index, an innovative tool to measure how well—or poorly—different communities are integrated into the urban fabric. By analysing access to water, sanitation, safety, transportation, and legal recognition, the Index helps pinpoint the real gaps in infrastructure, access, and opportunity.

For those unable to join us in-person, the launch will be live-streamed on OneCity’s YouTube Channel (click the link to turn on notifications).
