About this event

Health • Medical

Nearly 50 years ago then-teenagers Joe, Christos and Charlie became friends while recovering from paralyzing spinal cord injuries on White 9, a medical floor at Massachusetts General Hospital. They and others with similar injuries helped spur the passage of the Americans with Disabilities Act 35 years ago and the development of the independent living movement.

This is a hybrid lecture; we welcome you to come to the museum or view virtually. An ASL interpreter will be onsite for those attending in person, with a live captioner online for those attending virtually.

Please note: This lecture will NOT be recorded and will not be available after the lecture date.
