Which ticket do I purchase?

If you have your own kayak and want to support and be a member of Oxbow Inc. then you opt for the Kayak ticket. If you have your Whispering Beard tickets and don't have anything to paddle, get a Canoe ticket.

Do I need my own kayak or canoe?

Accepted Answer

We prefer that you do but we have kayaks and paddles that we can loan out. Those getting a Canoe Ticket will be provided a paddle and a PFD along with their canoe.

Question 3

What level of experience should I have paddling rivers?

Accepted Answer

We prefer intermediate to experienced paddlers that have had some experience on rivers.  The purpose of the trip is to tour and experience the history and the wildlife of the White Water and Great Miami Rivers and that could be difficult if you are an inexperienced at river paddling.

Is there a liability waiver?

Yes, all participants will be required to sign a liability waiver upon arrival.

What should I bring?

Kayak, paddle, PFD, sunscreen, refillable water bottle, water tight bag or ziplock bag, snacks, phone (if  you want to use a Merlin or ID app or take pictures). We suggest you wear proper foot ware such as water socks or old gym shoes and head covering such as a ball cap or wide brim sun hat.

What am I going to experience on the river?

You will have unique experience that is free of other paddlers on a section of river almost no one paddles.  You MIGHT see eagles and osprey.  The section of the river is home to lots of Kingfishers, swallows, various wood peckers ashore birds.  We've seen deer swimming the river
