Whippersnapper Cooker-Upper
A Kids’ Cooking & Mini-Business Workshop
As part of YourSpace’s annual event teaching young people entrepreneurial skills, Whippersnapper Cooker-Upper brings a tasty new layer to the mix.
Run by the Green Nut Community, this fun, hands-on workshop is perfect for kids who love baking—or want to learn.
In the cooking session, children will:
– Follow a simple, guided recipe
– Measure, mix, knead, roll and bake their own sweet or savoury treats
– Learn safe kitchen skills, including using a knife and rolling pin
– Explore flavours, ingredients, and presentation
Then they’ll:
– Name and package their baked goods
– Decide how much to sell them for
– Create a mini business plan
– Set up to sell and keep the profit
Ages: 9–18 (must be confident using a knife and rolling pin)
When: Saturday 1st November, 10am–12pm
Where: YourSpace, Sutton
Cost: £15 per child – includes all ingredients, materials, and the chance to earn it back (and more)
Whether they want to build a mini baking business or simply enjoy their creations, all are welcome.
