Become an adhesive pro and learn what to use on different projects and materials!
This workshop will cover an overview of the different types of adhesives available in your average (often overwhelming) hardware store adhesives aisle. We will cover options such as wood glue, superglues, epoxies, contact cement, hot glue and plastic welding.
We will then do an epoxy practice demonstration, get to see how different glues are applied, and have consultation time for you to ask about projects you might have.
Participants of all skill levels are welcome to this course.
You are welcome to bring in a project or item that you are hoping to glue together, but this is not a necessary prerequisite for joining the class.
Participants are encouraged to bring a notebook for notetaking and reading glasses if desired/needed.
Note on Sliding Scale Pricing:
Repair PDX seeks to both pay equitably and keep ticket prices accessible.
Not every event we run is independently solvent. We provide sliding scale, free tickets for volunteers, and other low cost opportunities because of our values. Thus, we rely on those with more financial support to pay the higher end of the sliding scale in order to offset the low-cost tickets. Thus, you will see a variety of ticket prices for the same event and we encourage you to pay what you can.
Proceeds from tickets go directly to paying our wonderful instructors, providing materials for the class, and continuing to host events and workshops like this one!
*If you are a volunteer wanting to join the class or needing a accessible ticket when there are none tickets left, please email margo@repairpdx.org so we can open one up for you.
