Whey Jennings, the grandson of the legendary country music icon Waylon Jennings, was heavily influenced by his family’s musical legacy from an early age. Growing up in a household surrounded by music, Whey developed a deep appreciation for traditional country music and began honing his musical talents from a young age. His exposure to the rich history of the genre provided him with a solid foundation on which to build his own unique sound and style.
His grandfather, Waylon Jennings, and grandmother, Jessi Colter, were influential figures in shaping his musical aspirations. Their passion for storytelling through music inspired Whey to pursue his own artistic endeavors and find his voice as a performer.
Jennings grew up loving his grandfather’s music but never pursued a music career of his own until a decade or so ago. He started playing cover songs in bars and says it seemed only natural to add some of Waylon’s songs to the mix. After spending years as a member of the southern rock band “Southern Comfort,” Whey made the decision to pursue a solo career, carving out his own path in the world of country music.
