Where The Roots Bloom
Overview
About This Event
Where The Roots Bloom is a gesture of love, a site-responsive art experience, and a collective space for remembrance. Hosted in a family home, this intimate gathering is dedicated to the maternal legacies that shape us—the mothers and grandmothers who weave the fabric of our families and cultures.
Born from personal grief and intertwined with a wider, collective mourning for lost homes and heritage, this event is a humble offering. It is an invitation to sit with loss, honor cultutral bonds, and plant seeds for transformation through art and shared presence.

The Experience
This is not a traditional gallery exhibition. The home itself is our collaborator. You are invited into a living, domestic space where art intermingles with memory:
- The Exhibition: Artworks by Malaysian, Southeast Asian, and international artists will be placed in dialogue with the home.
- Sensory Layers: The experience will be deepened with curated scents, personal archives, and an interactive memory tree for shared reflection.
- Themes Explored: Legacy, gardening, rootedness, and nurturing—to plants, memories, and culture.
