About this event

  • Event lasts 2 hours

Brendan B. Brown, the unmistakable voice and pen behind “Teenage Dirtbag” and founder of the cult alt-rock band Wheatus, brings his sharp wit, heartfelt songwriting, and unforgettable stories to Caffè Lena for a rare acoustic performance.

After two decades of independent releases, viral covers from One Direction, Sza, and Phoebe Bridgers, and a renewed global fanbase, Brendan continues to push boundaries while holding onto the DIY spirit that launched him. Expect deep cuts, surprises, and the song that started it all—up close and personal.

Opening the evening is Gabrielle Sterbenz, a Bronx-based singer-songwriter whose rich, soulful voice and genre-blending style draw from gospel, folk, and Americana. A longtime member of Wheatus (since 2011), Gabrielle has toured internationally with the band and recently penned a cheeky Christmas version of “Teenage Dirtbag” for their Sony-released holiday EP. She’ll share songs from her upcoming album produced by platinum-selling Philip Jimenez.

Come for the Dirtbag nostalgia. Stay for the musicianship, the stories, and the discovery of two unique voices sharing the stage in an intimate, one-of-a-kind night.
