This session explores how trauma affects the body and brain during the perinatal period—a time of unique vulnerability from preconception through the first two years postpartum. Participants will learn to recognize the four trauma responses (fight, flight, freeze, and fawn) as they show up during pregnancy and postpartum, understand how unresolved trauma impacts parent-infant bonding, and discover trauma-informed approaches to support healing.

The presentation reframes the question from "What's wrong with you?" to "What happened to you?", emphasizing strength-based, compassionate care that honors each person's experience and promotes post-traumatic growth.
