About this event

Join us to explore what harm reduction is and what it isn’t, the history, ways to identify and apply harm reduction strategies in Chester County, learn about the benefits of harm reduction, and address personal biases.

We are in the midst of a nationwide opioid crisis.

In 2023, there were 2,157 overdose-related deaths in South Carolina, with 1,704 being attributed to opioids. Chester County saw a 23% increase in overdose deaths from 2022 to 2023. These numbers don’t include the countless overdose reversals occurring daily by friends, family members, first responders, police officers, teachers, and more. Harm Reduction addresses the crisis head-on, and has for decades.
