This workshop will cover the basics of zoning law, including conditional uses, variances, and how to research properties in your neighborhood. Community leaders are sometimes caught unprepared for zoning hearings - instead, learn at this webinar how to build the strongest possible case before the Board of Municipal and Zoning Appeals (BMZA).

About the Presenter

Shana Roth-Gormley has been with the Community Law Center since 2014. Ms. Roth-Gormley has overseen the Pro Bono Program and taught many of Community Law Center’s workshops on nonprofit formation and governance, and vacant and nuisance properties. She also represents nonprofit clients and advocates for systemic change on issues of tax sale and vacant and abandoned properties. She is a graduate of the UCLA School of Law and a member of the Maryland Bar.

This workshop is for community leaders and neighbors who are interested in learning more about zoning in Baltimore City, Maryland.

Cost to attend the workshop

The cost for one person to attend the workshop is $30. Additional attendees from the same organization may sign up for a discounted rate! (Two participants from the same organization can pay $25 each).

Accessing the Workshop

This workshop will be presented in-person at the office of Community Law Center at 3355 Keswick Road in the Hampden neighborhood of Baltimore City. Free parking is available.

Photo Waiver

Attendees of Community Law Center events grant permission to appear in photographs used in publications, including printed materials, and electronic formats including website entries, without payment or any other consideration.

Required Declaration Forms

Registrants will need to complete a brief form declaring the average household income for the organization (not for any individual). This paperwork is required by our funders for Community Law Center to keep in our records for informational purposes only.

Cancellations and Refunds

Refunds will be accepted up to 48 hours before the workshop. If you, or your designee, do not attend the workshop you signed up for, the fee is non-refundable.
