What the Heck Is Inattentive ADHD?

Most people think they know what ADHD looks like—bouncing off the walls, blurting out answers, endless fidgeting. Inattentive ADHD is different.Because it doesn’t show up as loud or disruptive behavior, it’s often overlooked, misdiagnosed, or dismissed as daydreaming or laziness.

In this workshop, we’ll break down what inattentive ADHD really looks like in kids and adults, including the subtle patterns that families and teachers miss:

  • zoning out or “spaciness”
  • disorganization and forgetfulness
  • difficulty starting tasks without constant prompting
  • slow processing or needing extra time
  • internal restlessness that doesn’t show on the outside
  • emotional overwhelm that looks “quiet,” not explosive

You’ll learn how the inattentive brain works—and why these kids often struggle with confidence, executive functioning, and school expectations even when they’re bright, thoughtful, and motivated.

Tools for immediate implementation

You’ll leave with practical, culturally grounded tools you can use right away to support children, teens, or adults with inattentive ADHD, including.

Who This Is For

  • Parents and caregivers
  • Educators, therapists, and youth-service providers
  • Adults who suspect they may have inattentive ADHD themselves
  • Anyone who wants to understand and support kids who struggle quietly

This session blends neuroscience, storytelling, and practical skills you can use the same day. You’ll walk away able to spot inattentive ADHD earlier, support kids more effectively, and replace frustration with empathy, clarity, and connection.
