What Should LWVUS Work on in 2026-28?

By League of Women Voters of San Diego

Overview

General membership meeting and discussion of LWVUS priorities

What issues most need the attention of LWVUS in 2026-28?

What issues should the National League study or  become more active on?

Join LWVSD members for discussion about the critical issues facing our democracy in the years ahead and what LWVUS, the National League, should be working on. Our ideas will be forwarded to the National League for consideration before the National Convention in June 2026 in Columbus, Ohio.

Our event will include a presentation about the current work and leadership of LWVUS, particularly its work on litigation about voting rights and gerrymandering.  There will also be discussion about the biennial National LWV Convention – a gathering at which many ideas are debated and discussed.

We will review the recommendations from both the National League and also from our own members.  We will have smaller group discussions led by seasoned LWV members and discuss whether there is consensus among us about recommendations to the National League.

Please join us at the Mission Valley Library on Tuesday, February 3rd at 5-7pm.  We will have heavy snacks and beverages.  There is ample parking.

Notice of Accessibility: LWVSD strives to create inclusive, accessible meetings and events that enable all individuals to fully engage with its programming. Please contact us if you need accommodations to access this event.
