What it means to be human - sharing/workshop - body sensations
Overview
Hey everyone, we have been running a pilot project :What It Means to Be Human: Navigating the Intersection of Invisible (Dis)abilities, Neurodiversity, and Gender Identity at Transmission Gallery in collaboration with Collaborative Cultures (Strathclyde University) This project is a reflection, on personal experiences of those intersections in context of body. We prepared variety of art pieces including – video, mixed media installations, to be touched, looked at and feel. We are aiming to engage You into a conversation about those sensations and ways to relate through common experience.
We recognize the private nature of the subject – it is completely confidential, none of personal details would be used in any other context than the time and space of the event. Therefor we would like to invite those of You, who has an experience of hypermobility/Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome and further cultural intersections.
As this is a pilot project we still are in development mode – gathering data, making art and figuring out patterns, that arise on the way.
Plan is to start, at:
11 am - 12:00 pm - get familiar with the gallery, wander around all pieces
12 am – 12:30 pm – lunch order, introduction/a word from artists running the gallery
12:30 pm – 1:30 pm – we will engage in further conversation, prompted towards shared experiences
1:30 pm – 2pm - food is coming
2pm – 3pm – finish eating/exit
