Deborah McKnight is a Racial Equity Transformation Consultant who has been centering race and racial equity for over 30 years. She believes in the power of strong and equitable instructional environments to change lives.

Were you surprised by what you saw happen at the Capitol on 1/6/21? Were you rightly outraged? We often condemn external events while being unaware of our own racism, and too often deny it.

We strongly encourage all parents and caretakers to participate in this unique opportunity to develop our racial skills and consciousness. Marin is the most racially disparate county in California. As parents and caretakers, it is important that we gain an understanding of racial issues. This will be an interactive event during which participants will be engaged in conversations about race in break out rooms on Zoom during some of the time.

NOTE: This will be PART 2 to the conversation we began in November: If you were not able to join us in November you are still encouraged to attend! PLEASE ALSO COME PREPARED TO SHARE HOW YOU ARE HAVING CONVERSATIONS ABOUT RACE IN YOUR FAMILY, WITH YOUR CHILD(REN)."

In preparation for our upcoming session, you are kindly asked to listen to the first 3 episodes of the podcast series Seeing White - Scene on Radio starting with S2 E1:Turning the Lens, S2 E2: How Race was Made, and S2 E3: Made in America.

We will be discussing these episodes during the session.
