Dr. Muñiz will analyze the geopolitical, economic, and social forces transforming the world today, from the erosion of multilateralism to the rise of nationalism and technological disruption. His remarks will be followed by a dialogue with Dr. Federico Steinberg, Prince of Asturias Chair at Georgetown University, offering additional perspectives on global governance and the future of international cooperation.
About Dr. Manuel Muñiz:
Dr. Muñiz is the Provost of IE University in Madrid and the Chair of the Board of Trustees of IE New York College. He served as Dean of IE’s School of Politics, Economics and Global Affairs (2017–2024) and as State Secretary (Vice Minister) at the Spanish Foreign Ministry (2020–2021), where he led the Strategy and Foresight Unit, the Economic Diplomacy team, and the Office for Diplomatic Information.
He is a member of the Advisory Committee of the Club of Madrid and the European Council on Foreign Relations, and a recipient of numerous honors, including the Grand Cross of Spain’s Order of Merit, the David Rockefeller Fellowship (Trilateral Commission), the Atlantic Council’s Millennium Fellowship, and the Eisenhower Fellowship.
Dr. Muñiz holds a Master’s in Public Administration from Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government and a DPhil (PhD) in International Relations from the University of Oxford.
