Description
Maize Wallin is a Melbourne-based composer, sound designer and consultant for videogames, curator and creator of live art shows, as well as teaching Sound for Interactive Media, and Composition at the Australian Institute of Music.
Maize leads a diverse career, working on live art locally and regularly for international game development companies. Maize is a keen advocate for online communities and remote working opportunities for Australian composers. As well as being on the cutting edge of audio in new technologies.
Maize directed Encounters, a large scale public art installation for Summer Salt and White Night festivals by Microsoft Social NUI lab and VCA. Maize has also exhibited at Arts Centre Melbourne's Channel for Open Melbourne. She is also well known for creating the Game Art Melbourne Exhibition, co-directing Glitchmark's Holograph conference in 2014, and musical instrument videogame series, CTRL_Coda. Maize has done extensive work in prominent Melbourne galleries and museums, such as Arts Centre Melbourne, Australian Centre for the Moving Image, Fort Delta and the Ian Potter Museum of Art, she will also be undertaking a two month residency at The Museums Quartier in Vienna.
