As part of Wine Road’s 40th Anniversary celebrations in 2016, Wine Road is partnering with our AVA groups to co-host appellation specific, intimate tastings.
The first AVA tasting for 2016 focused on Cabernet Sauvignon from Alexander Valley – in a very well received event called Cab Academy.
For the Dry Creek Valley event, we have decided to create an educational event, dedicated on what goes into the signature zinfandel we so proudly represent.
Guests are invited to Talty Winery for the opportunity to learn how to blend zinfandel with the professionals. Attendees will be teamed with Dry Creek Valley winemakers and learn hands-on how they create their unique zinfandel. Small-tables and active guided sessions will shed light on the zinfandel blending process. Winemakers will direct a tasting of all the various components of their selected zinfandel, next they will be walked through the blending process and then will curate their own zinfandel based on personal tastes. We will conclude with a grand tasting 1-2 winemaker selected zinfandels allowing the guests to practice their newfound blending knowledge encouraging mingling and promotion.
