What Do You Say? Talk with Kids to Build Stress Tolerance and Motivation
Event Information
About this Event
Dr. William Stixrud and Ned Johnson, bestselling authors of The Self-Driven Child, will offer a preview of their new book, What Do You Say? Talking with Kids to Build Motivation, Stress Tolerance, and a Happy Home (available in the late summer of 2021).
Informed by research, this talk will emphasize practical communication strategies for building a strong emotional connection with our kids, communicating healthy (versus toxic) expectations, fostering intrinsic motivation, and helping kids find their own reasons to change when they’re struggling.
This new guide will transform your ability to navigate complex terrain and communicate more successfully with your children and teens.
NOTE: You will be emailed a Zoom link on the day of the event (Thursday, March 4). Look for subject line "ZOOM LINK - What Do You Say?"
Parents, students, educators, mental health professionals, and community members welcome! Free admission. Spanish interpretation will be available.
This presentation is sponsored by M-A PTA, Sequoia Union High School District, Sequoia Healthcare District, Peninsula Health Care District, and The Parent Venture.
