Join us for an ONLINE discussion about the range of reactions to the Kirk assassination. The media was filled with strong emotional content that moved from glee about the loss of life to abject sorrow and everything in between. Some people have even suggested we are headed toward another civil war!
What was your reaction to Charlie Kirk's death? And what do you think it suggests about the future of America?
All attendees will be assigned to smalll group facilitated breakout rooms. We will explore this topic by thinking deeply about the following questions:
- How does rhetoric drive political violence? What is being said that makes some people think we are headed toward civil war?
- Can the human instinct toward tribalism and vigilante justice be overcome?
- Braver Angels promotes that we be curious about people and ideas we don't understand! Can curiosity overcome the darkest of human instincts? Is that enough to fend off civil war?
