What Comes Before: Manding? The Recorded Session
Overview
Pre-Recorded Session . Not a live event. Webinar Recording will be available via your Eventbrite ticket purchase.
In the introduction to the “What comes before ____?”series, we explained how a particular learner may not be ready to learn a particular target. One appropriately popular target is “manding” (Skinner, 1957) or requesting preferred items and events.
The earlier we can teach a learner to mand, the better. But many struggle. The issue could be that teachers are failing to capture or contrive the relevant MO frequently enough. The issue could be that they’re struggling with when and how to prompt or with when and how to reinforce.
In this training, we’ll dive into the skills and repertoires most learners need to benefit from mand training. This includes things like: varied interests, strong interests, imitative/echoic repertoires, recognizing that good things come through their teachers, and much more.
Join us! Consider whether your learner is truly ready to benefit from mand training. If he is not yet ready, learn about some of the things you can do to get him there.
