Purpose: We are developing a Salt Management Strategy (SaMS) for the area, and we want your input! Community awareness and involvement starts with listening to the community's concerns and interests.

Background: To address rising salt levels in local waterways that include Accotink Creek and Long Branch, the VA Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) is working with a diverse set of stakeholders to develop SaMS. This will provide recommendations and resources for improving winter practices through efficient and effective use of salts while continuing to keep the same levels of safety.
