WFW Brown Bag Lunch and Learn: A Real Time, Real Life Look at the
Current State of Hunger in WNC

Presented by Mary Nesbitt, Chief Development Officer at MANNA FoodBank

Monday, February 3rd, 12:00 - 1:30 p.m.

The Community Foundation of Western North Carolina

This presentation will answer the Who, What, When, Where, and Why questions around the pervasive and deeply concerning issue of hunger faced by over 100,000 of our neighbors. Learn the answer to the most important question: How are we uniquely poised, now more than ever, to work together to help transform this reality?

Mary Nesbitt has served as MANNA FoodBank's Chief Development Officer for 5 years. MANNA FoodBank is a nonprofit organization serving Western North Carolina since 1983 and an accredited member of Feeding America, the nation's largest domestic hunger relief organization. In fiscal year 2018 - 2019, MANNA distributed 19.8 million pounds of food through some 200+ community-based food assistance agencies in 16 Western North Carolina counties.

Bring your lunch - and a friend! - and join us for this informative event. Additionally, please consider bringing a non-perishable food item to donate to MANNA at the event.

Please register by Thursday, January 30th.

Women for Women was formed in 2005 to improve the lives of women and girls through effective charitable giving. An initiative of The Community Foundation of Western North Carolina, Women for Women has distributed more than $3.8 million in grants.
