About this Event

West Coast Swing - Playing with Contrast and Texture with Wren Newman & Scot McKay

Last November we played with using phrasing to style up your West Coast Swing. Kick off the new dance year playing with contrast and texture! Let’s play with the music, and individual movement that you can practice alone or with a partner. Prerequisites: Knowledge of the basic WCS patterns required. (Sugar push and passes)

Instructors: Wren and Scot have been involved – together and separately – in partner dancing for over 15 years and have been teaching together for 5 years. While West Coast Swing is their favorite social dance, their dancing/teaching repertoire includes Country 2-step, East Coast Swing, Nightclub 2-Step, Salsa, and more. Like everyone else, they can’t wait for the world to get back to dancing.

Suggested workshop fee of $10; but pay what you can. Workshop fees go towards paying staff to run Zoom and to the instructors. Instructors receive a bonus after their fee is reached. Donations will be treated as such and go toward any and all operating expenses.

As we continue to pay our staff and instructors, we rely on your generous support in order to underwrite various registration fees. Thank you.
