About this event

You are warmly invited to support West Branch Commons - a new community land trust for the next generation of Catskills farmers. Join us at Wayside Cider in Andes for a locally-sourced benefit dinner to support WBC’s purchase of a historic 287-acre farm in Hamden.

Join us for dinner with Chef Tara Norvell, featuring bounty from WBC farmers! We will have performances (more on that soon!) and dancing to end the night with our community. We'll also have a raffle featuring prizes from local vendors and businesses.

West Branch Commons (WBC) is a community-led nonprofit working to make farmland accessible and affordable for the next generation of farmers. Instead of needing the capital to buy land, farmers will have long-term, secure leases along with shared infrastructure and intergenerational mentorship. Rooted in QTBIPOC leadership and inspired by cooperative principles and global movements for peasant farmers, WBC is about building community, resilience, and a future where farming can thrive.

Since 2021, WBC has been uplifted by American Farmland Trust, Catskills Agrarian Alliance, and many local partners who share the vision of preserving farming livelihoods. Together, we’re raising $950,000 by December 2026—funds that will go toward purchasing the land, renovating farm housing and infrastructure, and building organizational capacity. Every ticket and donation brings us closer to that goal, helping to secure this land for farmers and community for generations to come.
