About this event

  • ALL AGES

Have a favorite show, artist, or book that you just can’t stop talking about? This workshop is all about channeling that passion into your own fanzine.

Led by zinesters Genesis Perez and Iván Salinas, the session begins with a quick introduction to fanzines and a look at how fandom and DIY publishing go hand in hand. Then, with a little guidance and plenty of room for creativity, you’ll dive into making your own zine, whether it’s a love letter to a character, a media recommendation guide, or a personal reflection on how a piece of pop culture shaped you.

All materials provided. All fandoms welcome.

About the facilitators:

Genesis Perez is a queer zinester, writer, and performer based in Oxnard, often found spinning vinyl or serving tea at the Beyond Baroque Bookstore.

Iván Salinas is a poet, zinester, and co-founder of Drifter Zine. He serves as Programs Manager at Beyond Baroque and organizes literary events across Los Angeles.

Presented as part of the Wende Zine Fest.
