ABOUT THE PROGRAM

"Why isn't Sunday School working like it used to?" "Why don't youth and children attend church the same way as before?" Variations of these conversations are happening all over the Church.

In order to continue to be effective in a changing world, formation programs and those who lead them are faced with helping programs and pratices continue to adapt to a new environment. This workshop focuses on models for making change: figuring out what changes are needed and then figuring out how to more effectively implement lasting change in formation programs. Learn some ideas about managing planned change in the area of formation and then consider how those ideas might apply in your context to help you make needed changes.

SOBRE EL PROGRAMA

«¿Por qué la Escuela Dominical ya no funciona como antes?» «¿Por qué los jóvenes y los niños no asisten a la iglesia de la misma manera que antes?» Variaciones de estas conversaciones están ocurriendo en toda la Iglesia.

Para seguir siendo efectivos en un mundo cambiante, los programas de formación y quienes los dirigen se enfrentan al reto de ayudar a que los programas y las prácticas continúen adaptándose a un nuevo entorno. Este taller se centra en modelos para generar cambios: identificar qué cambios son necesarios y luego determinar cómo implementar de manera más eficaz un cambio duradero en los programas de formación. Aprenda algunas ideas sobre cómo gestionar el cambio planificado en el área de formación y luego considere cómo esas ideas podrían aplicarse en su contexto para ayudarle a realizar los cambios necesarios.

Sally Ulrey serves as Canon for Congregational Vitality and Ministry Development on the Bishop’s Staff in the Diocese of Atlanta, where she’s served in the Office of Congregational Vitality since 2018. Prior to joining the Bishop’s staff, Sally spent almost 20 years working in parishes in the Diocese of Atlanta in Christian formation and youth ministry, using her formal education in Bible & Theology and Christian Education. She is currently working on a masters in Organization Development, concentrating in change management and staff development. She also writes curriculum, co-authoring the Dismantling Racism Youth Curriculum (2017) and Living God’s Dream, a dismantling racism curriculum for children (2024). Sally is passionate about helping people discover a transforming relationship with Jesus and the adventure of following Christ, and helping congregations to be healthy and faithful places where that can happen.
