Event description

Description

Join Allison as she shares her experience and passion of being a roboticist, software engineer, and tech lead on self-driving vehicles and simulation. Learn what simulation is and what it can be used for, and explore more about simulation of self-driving vehicles. In this webinar, we will:

  • Learn insider tips from the tech industry
  • Consider how simulation can be used in many domains: e.g., robotics, self-driving vehicles, software services
  • Learn about how self-driving vehicles work, and how simulation improves safety

Allison Liemhetcharat leads the development of simulation at rideOS, the technical development in Singapore and the region, and works closely with partners to integrate their self-driving vehicles into the rideOS services.

Prior to rideOS, she worked for over 2 years at Uber Advanced Technologies Group in Pittsburgh. Allison was Tech Lead of Simulation for over a year, and subsequently worked on the Motion Planning team, and has experience with both the offline and online aspects of self-driving vehicles. Before joining Uber ATG, she was a scientist at the Institute for Infocomm Research in Singapore, and worked on a number of robotics projects.

She's mentored over 30 students in research-related projects, ranging from high school to Ph.D. students. Allison attained a Ph.D and MS in Robotics from Carnegie Mellon University, and a BS in Computer Science from Carnegie Mellon University.
