Building an Operational Plan

Many businesses fail not because of a bad business idea, but because there was no system that standardized, measured, and improved its operations.

The goal of this course is to help you translate your business concept into an efficientoperation that continuously improves andraises your bottom line.

During this course, you will•Learn aboutthe value and components of a business operational plan

•Map your business’s processes, resources, and partners using a business model canvas

•Identifyyour critical processes, and alternative processes for them

•Define Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and KPI goals for your business

This course is the third module in the NYC Department of Small Business Services’ (SBS) five-course Introduction to Entrepreneurshipseries. If you are a pre-startup, we recommend that you complete the first and second modules in this series –“First Step to Starting a Business” and “Creating a Business Idea that Works” –before taking this course.
