Weaving with Recycled & Found Materials
Overview
Join us for a fun workshop, led by Jean Gallo, where we will learn how to make our own small weavings AND divert single-use plastic and fabric waste out of the waste system! We will provide the necessary supplies, but please feel free to bring your own materials to recycle!
Jeans Gallo is a multimedia artist specializing in movement and fiber crafts. Their work spans from the practical, functional, and even mundane to the intuitive, abstract, and fantastical aspects of life. They have found that working with fiber-based mediums is a meditation in repetition and presence. Both tangible and invisible threads connect us to the past through ancient technologies and move us towards building the future we wish to see.
