About WE Connect 1-on-1 Mentor Sessions
Welcome to WE Connect's 1-on-1 Mentoring Sessions—an exclusive opportunity for women entrepreneurs to receive personalized guidance and support from mentors. As part of WE NYC, the official initiative of the City of New York, this program empowers women in their entrepreneurial journey. These 1-hour sessions will connect you virtually with one of our expert mentors in a focus area you'd like to strengthen based on the mentor's expertise and offer.
How It Works:
Step 1: Register and Share Your Preferences
Kickstart your mentoring journey by filling out a form. Tell us about your business, your goals, and the areas where you seek guidance. Your responses help us tailor the mentoring experience to your needs.
Step 2: Personalized Mentor Matching
Based on your preferences and needs, we'll carefully pair you with a mentor who aligns with your goals. The mentor will reach out to you to schedule a session.
Step 3: Book Your Session
Book your mentoring session by selecting a time in their calendar.
Step 4: Get Ready for Your Session
Once you've booked, an invite for your session will be sent your way. Prepare for a meaningful conversation that propels your entrepreneurial journey forward!
How to maximize your experience with WE NYC
- Your mentor will likely also recommend different services to better meet your needs, including a small group workshop or online materials to accentuate mentoring. Take advantage of them as they are supplemental to the advice you are receiving.
- This service offering does not provide grants, business loans, CPA services, or legal services, but your mentor may be able to suggest other SBS service offerings or outside resources to assist you in those areas. Keep an open mind about what you think you may need initially, and work with your mentor to try to find a solution.
- Your business is not built in a day. Similarly, you benefit most from WE NYC by meeting with a mentor for more than a one-hour appointment. Before the conclusion of your initial session, your mentor will schedule another appointment for you or assist you in finding the correct resource. You should meet with your mentor regularly to maximize your chances of success.
What we expect from you
- Our mentors are volunteers. Their time is given freely to help you and others achieve your goals and dreams with a small business venture. Out of respect of your time and our mentors’ time, we ask that you follow through on any scheduled appointments or provide notice of a change. If you need to cancel and/or reschedule your appointment, please contact your WE Connect mentor directly.
- Both you and your mentor will work together to identify key areas to focus on to build to your business success. While your mentor will always be there to help you, they will not do the work for you. You are responsible for moving your business forward.
- After you first meet with your mentor, you will receive an electronic survey from WE Connect about our service within the month of your service. The survey will take you about 1 minute to complete. We ask for your feedback in order to continue to improve our service.
