This 5-minute film is by Zoë and Jada Nevels. Young Filmmakers attend Grades 3 and 2, Mann Elementary School and home school in Oak Park, Ill.

"We Can All Help the Earth!" tied for first place in the One Earth Young Filmmakers Contest at the elementary school level. Winners received $100 to keep + $100 to donate to a sustainability non-profit.

Sisters Zoë and Jada use stop-motion, green-screen, and live action to explain how electricity is produced, the dangers of using too much fossil fuel, and what each of us can do to reduce our carbon footprint.

With the help of lively music and their own charisma, the girls explain the clean energy options and small steps we each can take in our everyday lives. In their contest entry, Zoë disclosed her motive for entering was to learn more about the environment and have fun while doing it!

Stay tuned for Q&A with the filmmakers after the screening.
