Join your Hate & Bias Prevention Unit (HBPU) Regional Council colleagues from across the state for a two-day symposium celebrating 80 years of advancing equity and justice for all New Yorkers at Fordham University in the Bronx, NY.

Day 1, April 8, 11:15 AM to 8 PM – Exclusive programming to support Hate & Bias Prevention Unit Regional Council members, which will include opportunities to build deeper relationships with fellow council members, brainstorm about ways to prevent hate and bias, and highlight your organization’s work. There will also be a hate and bias response workshop and each regional council will hold their 2nd Quarterly Meeting in person.
Day 2, April 9, 9 AM to 4 PM – The day will include programming for civil rights stakeholders, elected officials, and community leaders to learn more about best practices to prevent hate and bias in our communities, promote fair housing, and respond to the critical civil rights issues of today. As promised, Regional Council members will have a special opportunity to attend a session focused on the Regional Councils’ role in statewide policy work.

Please register by Wednesday, March 5, 2025 and indicate whether you will be attending both days. As discussed, HBPU Regional Council members who have hurdles to participating should email biasprevention@dhr.ny.gov to discuss those hurdles with HBPU staff. Details on lodging options were sent to invitees via email.
