Mark your last Thursdays! What's So Funny About Detroit? is coming back to the gorgeous backyard of the Old Miami with host extraordinaire, Ryan Patrick Hooper (In The Groove, M-F, 12-3p).

A new lineup of Detroit's most talented comedians will take the stage on May 29th, June 26th, July 31th, and August 28th to showcase what, indeed, is so funny about the Motor City. And we finally have one landing page where you can pick up your tickets to all four shows in advance!

On Thursday, July 31, Ryan Patrick Hooper will welcome SAM TALLENT to Detroit as our headliner. Sam will share the stage with local comedians T.BARB, BRIANNA BLACKBURN, and BRAD WENZEL.


******If you purchased a ticket to the June show, which was cancelled due to weather, your ticket will be automatically transferred to the July 31 show.******

Doors open at 6:00PM, show begins at 7:00PM sharp. We will do our very best to have you on your way home by 9:30PM.

This is an UNCENSORED comedy event. The viewpoints of the performers do not necessarily reflect those of WDET or Wayne State University.

This is a BRING YOUR OWN CHAIR and/or BLANKET event. When you get to the backyard, please set up blankets in the front, chairs in the back. There will be very limited on-site seating.

The Old Miami is a 21+ venue - NO EXCEPTIONS - we apologize in advance for any inconvenience! You may be required to show a photo ID for entry.

Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 at the door. We will accept cash and card at the door.

There will be an on-site food vendor. No outside beverages are permitted.

Frequently asked questions

Can I bring food and beverages inside the venue?

You may purchase food from the Burger Truck across the street to bring into the backyard. Food can also be purchased from the on-site food vendor. Outside beverages are NOT allowed.

Can I bring my dog?

Service animals are allowed. Unfortunately, pets are not.

Can I bring my kids?

The Old Miami is a 21+ venue, no exceptions (including if patron is with parent/guardian). We apologize for any inconvenience.

What's the seating situation?

This is a BRING YOUR OWN CHAIR/BLANKET event. Blankets in the front of the lawn, chairs in the back. There will be very limited on-site seating.

Is there a bar in the backyard?

Yes!

Where do I park?

We recommend arriving slightly early to find a street parking spot. You may also want to pre-download the ParkDetroit app. There are also various paid lots around the city. There is no parking at The Old Miami.

Where do we enter?

Please enter through the gates to the left of the main entrance. This will lead you directly to the show and is where you can obtain your wristband for re-entry.

Can I buy tickets at the door?

If the event is not already sold out, yes! Please note that tickets will be $30 at the door as opposed to $25 in advance.
