Wavecrest Astronomy Walk
Overview
Wavecrest Astronomy Walk
Bring your binoculars, flashlights (preferably with red light option), warm clothes, and proper footwear for a flat trail hike as you join us for this guided evening walk led by Rachel Ross, an experienced astronomy educator with a background in observatory-based education, outreach, research, and telescope operations.
As daylight fades, we’ll walk the trails, learn to identify celestial features, and enjoy a quiet, awe-inspiring view of the night sky above the coast—perfect for curious beginners and seasoned stargazers alike.
If the night is cloudy, the walk will be rescheduled for January 31 from 6–8 p.m. Come experience Wavecrest after dark and see the Coastside from a whole new perspective.
All ages welcome and encouraged.
*We will meet at Redondo Beach Parking lot (at the very west end of Redondo beach road) promptly at 6pm, and walk into the Wavecrest Open space together from there.
