The Volusia County Explore Volusia program invites you to join Environmental Specialist Tommy Nordmann and Stetson University professor Jason Evans on a paddle down Deep Creek as we search for water lettuce. We will be assisting the professor with sampling and research while enjoying the beautiful scenery and wildlife at Deering Preserve.

**Important note: The gates to the preserve will be closed and locked at 8:30 am. They can't be left open for anyone running late, no exceptions. We will proceed together with our vehicles to the kayak launch at 8:30 am. Please arrive on time.

** Some map apps and GPS devices may direct you to an incorrect location. Use the following link to help guide you to Deering Preserve at Deep Creek: https://maps.apple.com/place?coordinate=28.846330,-81.066912&name=Marked%20Location&map=h
