-------------------------
On Sunday 16th November, Bristol Warcry is running "Warcries in the West". This is potentially one of the last opportunities you have in 2025 to test your warband and your skill against the wider Warcry community, vying for supremacy, so don't miss out!
The tournament will be a 4-round matched play Warcry Tournament, held at Bristol Independent Gaming in Bristol. Warcry tournaments are reknowned for being welcoming to experienced and new players alike, and in that spirit as well as the usual prizes for best general, best painted etc I'm hoping to arrange prizes for a wide range of other eclectic achievements so that there's a range of things to be rewarded for. Also in that spirit, consider "don't be an ass" to be a general expectation - be nice to your fellow players, even as you slaughter their warband in front of them.....
Lists must be built as per the Warcry core rules (p60), comprising up to 1000 points, confirming to all the usual restrictions, and allocated into deployment groups (fixed for the day and as part of your list submission).
- Monsters, allies and thralls are all permitted
- Battle traits are in use for this tournament (https://warcrier.net/docs/rules/optional-rules/battle-traits ). If you have a choice between faction or grand alliance battle trait, this needs to be fixed for the day and stated in your list.
- Divine Blessings ( https://warcrier.net/docs/rules/optional-rules/divine-blessings ) are in use for this tournament, and must be fixed for the day and included in your list submission.
- Sites such as warcrier.net or apps such as warcrying will do some inbuilt validation of list legality for you if you need it.
Painted models fight better, so please don't bring grey plastic! Within reason, proxy models are permitted, but they must be on the correct base, and you must make every effort to ensure that your use of proxy models doesn't make your opponent's life more difficult in comprehending what unit is what. If you want to check proxies in advance, feel free to email pictures across.
In terms of things to bring with you:
- PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE bring a printed copy of your list to give to your opponent. The "gotcha" of sudden surprises has the potential to ruin people's games, and a copy of the printed list for your opponent does help with transparency of information.
- Bring a copy of your list and any other rules information you need for yourself
- Your models, obviously
- Dice, measuring implements, a way to track wounds, and objective and treasure tokens if you have them.
- Pen and paper, for any notes or records you need to take
Lists need to be submitted on Wartally - https://wartally.com/wc/tournaments/3334347afeea72 - by 11.59pm on Wednesday 12th.
