Event description

Description

Explore the fascinating potential of deeply immersive experiences to engage students and create compelling learning opportunities across educational programs. This workshop is designed for educational leaders and teachers in K-12, Higher Ed, Museums, and Nonprofits who want to understand the VR / AR landscape and develop a strategic vision for the implementation of immersive technologies.

We will identify devices and platforms, content examples, emerging practices, and pedagogical underpinnings. The morning session will review the latest developments in the technology and discuss a growing set of immersive educational tools, software, and educational case studies. In the afternoon we will review options for immersive physical space design and engage in a strategic planning implementation session. Participants will use a blueprint developed by Digital Bodies - Immersive Learning to help develop strategies for the implementation of your VR and AR projects. We will discuss costs associated with creating VR and AR experiences, the makeup of a team and a project management timeline.

Participants will develop a deeper understanding of the pedagogical foundations, understanding of the immersive learning technology landscape and emerging practices along with a set of tools and ideas for immediate implementation. You will be ready to lead VR and AR projects in your school, campus or organization.

Lunch, afternoon snack, and happy hour are included. The event will be held in the Steelcase WorkLife Center New York.

After a day of provocative discussions, continue the conversation and network with participants in a beautiful space overlooking the city lights of Columbus Circle and Central Park.
