Volunteer Tree Planting

Join the Student Conservation Association, The Nature Conservancy the City of Gary and Friends of Marquette Park for a meaningful day of tree planting at Marquette Park! This event is a fantastic opportunity to give back to your community while helping to improve the local environment by increasing the city’s tree canopy and beautifing community green space. Not only will your efforts contribute to a healthier, greener Gary, but you'll also get the chance to meet like-minded individuals who care about sustainability, conservation, and community service.
Whether you're passionate about the environment or simply looking for a positive way to spend your day, this event is open to all and welcomes volunteers of all experience levels. It’s a great way to make new connections, learn more about urban forestry, and play a part in shaping a more sustainable future for your city.

You will need to bring comfortable clothes to work in, a good pair of closed toed shoes, a good attitude and a friend! We will handle the rest!
