About this event

Charity & Causes • Poverty

At JK Community Farm, we are dedicated to fighting food insecurity by providing fresh, chemical-free, and nutrient-rich produce and protein to those in need. We believe that access to healthy food is a fundamental right, not a privilege. Through sustainable farming practices and community involvement, we work to bridge the gap in food access by growing and donating 250,000 pounds of fresh food annually to hunger relief partners. By engaging volunteers, businesses, and organizations, we cultivate not just food but a stronger, healthier, and more compassionate community.

A Volunteer Morning at the Farm

Volunteering at JK Community Farm is a hands-on and rewarding experience for all ages that makes a direct impact on food insecurity in our community. Here’s what you can expect during a volunteer morning:

  • Welcome & Orientation
Volunteers arrive at the farm and are greeted by our team. We begin with a brief introduction to our mission, the importance of our work, and an overview of the morning’s tasks.
  • Farm Tasks
Depending on the season, volunteers may help with various farm activities, such as: Planting seeds or seedlings, Harvesting fresh produce, Weeding and maintaining crops, Washing and packing food for distribution
  • Hands-On Learning
Volunteers get to experience sustainable farming techniques, learn about the impact of fresh food on nutrition and health, and see firsthand how their work supports the community.
  • Closing & Reflection
After a few hours of work, we wrap up with a short discussion about the impact of the day’s efforts, answer any questions, and take a moment to appreciate the collective contribution.

Volunteering at JK Community Farm is a great way to give back, enjoy the outdoors, and connect with a community of like-minded individuals who believe in the power of fresh food to change lives. Please contact Samantha Kuhn with any questions,
