Join a community reading of selected portions of Thomas Paine’s transformative work, Common Sense on its historic 250th anniversary.

The Thomas Paine Historical Association is hosting a community reading of selected portions of Thomas Paine’s transformative work, Common Sense. The one hour event will feature live readings by various members of the New Rochelle community including students, elected officials, civic leaders as well some videoed readings by international and national Thomas Paine enthusiasts.

This Celebration of the 250th anniversary of Common Sense will focus on the words of Thomas Paine that speak to the ongoing debate on the rights and role of citizens in a democratic republic. TPHA Board member Lisa Burton will moderate the event, and readings will be followed by questions and discussion with Gary Berton, TPHA President.

This event is free and open to the public. Space is limited.
