The University of the Highlands and Islands Music Research Hub hosts its first research event, bringing together diverse stakeholders to explore innovations in music research. This one-day gathering features sessions on methodological advances, technology applications, wellbeing impacts, diversity initiatives, and community partnerships. Participants will engage with PhD researchers, experienced supervisors, and industry professionals while exploring Ableton technology applications. Key themes include music's role in wellbeing, addressing socioeconomic barriers in education, and building sustainable musical communities through partnerships. Practical workshops will demonstrate classroom technology integration, while discussions will examine access challenges in Scottish schools. The event aims to foster interdisciplinary dialogue, professional networking, and knowledge exchange across the music research ecosystem.
