Voice and Vibration: The Art of Living in Tune
Ancient mystics believed in Nada Brahma: the idea that the world is sound.
As everything is ultimately vibration, the mystics were indeed right, that everything is also sound. Moreover, modern science confirms what mystics have long intuited: that sound shapes human experience more than vision—yet stress and over-stimulation prevent our hearing, let alone understanding the sounds (read: world) around us.
With context, however, one can learn to work with vibration, sound and music to better align the heart and mind so to allay stress and harmonize life. If the world is sound, it behooves us to learn how to work with it (rather than against it).
This experiential workshop will:
- illuminate vibration and sound's effects on the nervous system
- explore simple ways of sounding that cultivate a parasympathetic (relaxed) state since the voice is the ultimate diagnostic for internal freedom
- cultivate deep listening skills to transduce the heard sounds, into a felt somatic sense that can move qi/energy in the body to ultimately soothe the physiology
We are sense instruments of the infinite: join to attune to yourself, to others and thereby the harmony (however hidden) abounding all around.
