Visualizing Your Venture: Draw Connections in Your Work
Thursday, June 11, 2:00-3:30 pm
Let’s take some time to articulate and visualize the WHY behind your venture. What is the problem you see in the world? How should it be addressed? When you think about what you want your venture or vocation to look like in the future, what is at the core?
The act of drawing out ideas helps to process information and communicate in new ways. One way to understand where you are and where you are going in your venture is to put pen (or marker, or crayon - we’re not picky) to paper.
Using graphic facilitation, or guided conversation combined with drawing and visual note-taking, we will examine how visuals can help us as you plan and process your work.
This workshop encourages active participation and sets the stage for participants to explore their ventures creatively (no artistic abilities required).
Following this workshop, you will receive a print-ready PDF of your visualizations to guide your next steps.
Tickets: $5-$30 (suggested donation)

About the Facilitators
The workshop is facilitated by Marita Herkert-Oakland, a Madison-based entrepreneur who works with organizations to overcome obstacles and accelerate change in alignment with their “why”. She gets to test out new ideas and initiatives in her role as Marketing Coordinator for TruScribe.
The workshop is visualized by Eric Oakland. Eric is a co-founder of TruScribe, a whiteboard video production company based in Madison, and Squigl, DIY video creation software. As a creative entrepreneur, Eric’s experience visualizing ideas and information bring depth and awareness to conversations.
