About this event

Spirituality • Christianity

In Shiloh Society’s inaugural Visiting Scholar Lecture, Dr. Newell will explore the historical relationship between poetry and theology. His lecture at First Baptist Bryan, in the College Life Building, will focus on the work of eighteenth-century Christian poets, theologians, and literary critics, who saw poetry as central to God’s work in the world: His creation, His salvation, and His everlasting rest.
